RE: Towable toads

I have 2001 Honda Odyssey Van and due to DW severe injuries and handicap I would like to covert it into a dingy if possible. If not I have seen Odysseys being towed, what year models are four down towable without mods, if I can find the right combo I would buy one.

RE: Big three auto makers in big trouble

I am glad to see that someone chimed in about the Unions and their efforts with the workers, I agree that the workers might be hurt but will they remember how often they went to the Unions to get them more money, more retirement, fewer hours, more days off, Health care in retirement etc. Most of us do not get that type benefit and I am sure that it is probably true that the companies may not have put away enough money to cover these costs. I think the worst part is that wer either pay $25 billion now and more likely much more later, either way we the taxpayers will pay in the end.

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

Richard & Sue, I believe that Levi, Fella and charlie sent Sarah to you along with the Lord so that she would have a wonderful home and you have someone to fill the empty spot left by the losses of the lst year, a match made in Heaven and sent to Georgia.

RE: GPS feature that you would recommend

I like Tom Tom and just acquired a Tom Tom XL-S model, it has spoken street names which I very much like as well as Campgrounds which I have used often. My 2 cents worth.

Lobo will be awaiting your arrival at the Rainbow Bridge, until then may all your memories be good ones and someday may you find room in your heart and life for another pet who needs you as much as you need them. Ray Siso Jr.

RE: What breed of dog is that?

I will hae to take pictures but I consistently get asked; Is that a Dalmatian? We have Liver Colored Dallies and they have Liver colored Nose and spots. They really are Dalmatians according to the AKC Breed Standard.

Goodbye Charlie, I know that today you will be running and playing with Old Fella, Levi, Ginger, Ellen, Valley, and Booser and so many many others at the Rainbow Bridge until we all meet there to be together forever again.

Richard, although fate if often cruel. Charlie could not have chosen a beter friend for his last days. Sad as it will be, I know you will do what is right for him when the time comes and he will know that he has been and will be loved forever. My deepest sympathies.

RE: Campground Electricity

My thought is the surge protector cost me $395.00, a new Microwave/Convection Oven costs over $600.00 not counting the TV's and other items that I could lose in a power surge. The protector tests the circuit for 2 1/2 minutes and if it does not like the power it does not give the coach any power. If you are at a campground and it is hot and many are running A/C's and other cooling devices and power goes too low the surge protector shuts down the system prior to the voltage dropping where you could have a problem. I consider it worth the money and would not be withour my portable protector which of course could move with me if I was to trade into another coach that is why I chose portable vice hard wired. Just my opinion your results may vary.

RE: New or used?

I have brought two motorhomes, bought new both times. I believe that I would do new again if I was to buy again. We looked at the used market before both purchases and just could not find what we wanted, also I think about the number of changes the DW would require so I think new is the way to go, the warranty and service are big pluses with new.

RE: gettysburg campgrounds

We went to Gettysburg and liked ti so well we made another reservation for a return trip in October, however, it will not be to the same campground. We went to Drummer Boy and were placed in a new area which has spacious premium sites with all services well located and the sites are truly wide and long. The fly in the ointment is that the two different sites I had were not level. I am not talking about just slightly off-level, I am talking wheels off the ground off-level. This detracted signifiacntly from our enjoyment as my DW is significantly handicapped and thus had to limit her excursions in and out of the coach due to the height of the steps. Even adding two additional steps still left a very hich step from the last grounded step to the first coach step. Lastly, I beleive that they should tell the potential visitor who asks about Satellite reception that their facility is extremely wooded and as such getting satellite is unlikely. Had they done this I would have selected another campground as I have for my next visit. Whie it is true they have cable TV on our last night several of the channels snowede out and did not return while we were still there. I can not argue with the amenities at Drummer Boy for they are truly extensive but having a brand new Premium Site with added fee for the Premium site and then finding them off-level ws greatly disappointing. RE: Portable 50 Amp Surge Guard

Let me see, Microwave/Convection Oven=$650.00 50 AMP Portable Surge protector with lock from Camping World $399.00 Note that I did not include such things as TV's, Home Theatre etc. It convinced me that I desperately needed one.

RE: How many miles do you drive in a year?

We have averaged 7500 miles per year for our first four years, however, this year has been significantly different but not due to fuel costs. The DW has spent 69 days inpatient in the hospital and is still in recovery so we soon hope that we will be able to start running up some miles for this year.

Richard, Great news on the voting results, and even better news on the finding and keeping of Charlie. I believe I see the influence of Old Fella on all these activities. Ray & Helen Siso
